We put real life back in the room
The real world isn’t a sanitised, uniform entity of one colour, age, or gender. If we’re going to repair our damaged social fabric we have to start by creating pockets of the world we want to live in. And that means spaces where it’s safe to express, be, and connect as our most authentic, human selves.
Human connection creates opportunity because it’s people that change people's lives. Every artist, founder, creative or changemaker needs someone to believe in them before the rest of the world does. We happen to create the spaces where these moments happen.
Human connection also makes us tastemakers. Many of the people first platformed through What Does Not have gone on to wider recognition, proving that investing in people before they're established can change careers – and sometimes entire creative scenes.
We see it differently. We believe that taking a chance on good humans before anyone else does isn't just kindness and generosity – it's how culture evolves. Someone once took a chance on us. Paying that forward is how communities grow, creativity flourishes and new futures are built.
